Kurdistan Voice Editorial. A practical directory of Kurdish dictionaries, grammar books, textbooks and digital libraries.
Introduction
This guide collects Kurdish-language dictionaries, textbooks, grammar references and digital libraries for learners and researchers. Kurmanji (Kurmancî), Sorani (Soranî), Zazaki/Kirmanckî, Hawrami/Gorani and Southern Kurdish have different written conventions and available resources. Some entries are online reference sites; others are printed books or publisher catalogs. A free-to-view book is not necessarily licensed for redistribution as a PDF.
Online Kurdish dictionaries

Ferhengî Xall (فەرهەنگی خاڵ) is a well-known Sorani dictionary included among VejînLex’s resources. Sina Ahmadi’s List of Kurdish Dictionaries — a scholarly bibliography of Kurdish lexicographic resources, including language pairs and scripts.

Consult publisher catalogs for edition, price, stock and language variety rather than assuming a particular edition remains available.
Kurdish grammar books and textbooks

Choosing resources by learning goal
For Kurmanji beginners, start with a structured textbook and a Kurmanji dictionary, then practice reading short stories. For Sorani learners, combine a Sorani grammar book with Ferhengî Xall and texts written in the Sorani Arabic-based script. For German-speaking learners, explore the Institut für Kurdische Studien catalog. For researchers, consult VejînLex, VejînBooks and the Kurdish Institute of Paris, documenting the author, edition, dialect and original publication date.
Copyright and responsible downloads
Only offer a direct downloadable PDF when the rights holder, publisher or archive permits it. Otherwise link to the official catalog, bookshop, library record or reading platform. Record each resource’s title, author, publication year, Kurdish variety, script, language pair, description and access type. Kurdish-language spelling and romanization can differ across editions.
